Yet another Windows blogging client

. I just took a look at another client called Qumana. . The client sounds interesting but it is certainly not screen reader friendly. Menus are not accessible using normal activation commands, no keyboard shortcuts, at least I can't find them, and strange window classes. So far Ecto gets my #1 vote.

ecto for Windows.

I am just having a look at this client for Windows called Ecto. Looks interesting but I was having a lot of ecseption errors with .net because I did not have a correct password entered into my profile. They should clean this problem up a bit.

looking at Windows clients

I have spent the day looking at various Windows solutions for posting blog entries. So far the best I have found is BlogJet, a Windows client with a nice easy to use interface, works quite well with my screen reader, has shortcut keys for commonly used tasks, and does what I want it to do at the moment. I’m sure this program will get better as time goes on. One thing I would like to see addressed is a small issue with the menu bar where you press the alt key to activate the menus but this doesn’t happen. Actually, this does happen but keyboard focus doesn’t get switched to the menu bar. I’m not sure what the cause of this could be. I also took a look at W.Bloggar but as far as I can tell it doesn’t seem to have any shortcut keys for performing tasks so I dropped it.

Testing a new windows blogging client

Just testing this new windows client for blogging. It’s looking interesting so far but I have to use the JAWS mouse keys to access the menu bar. Maybe I can fix this with a jaws script.

The Midturm Break

I have been spending the first three days of my midturm break listing to podcasts and playingwith this new Iriver mp3 player I bought for recording my class lectures. I suppose it is time to get doing some real studying. Studying, I find is the hardest thing to get into.

What did I do today?

Well, Missed my math class at the university because it was just too bad to drive. At around 9 conditions started getting better so spent the next hour trying to get the car out of the driveway which was covered with ice. This was not fun! Arrived at the university 15 minutes late for my Labour relations class. After lunch I spent the last two hours reading a chapter of Canadian Industrial Relations, a book for Labour Relations, Checked out the days Daily Source Code and then drove home. Oh yes Also missed computer Science 1700 which wasn't much.
